"This year Hmong Melbourne New Year Festival will be different and will be a surprise for Hmong community," said Jessica Vue Ly, Entertainment Organiser for Hmong Melbourne New Year Festival 2018-19.


Jessica Vue Ly said that this year there will be many different activities to keep every Hmong communities members entertained and occupied.

Singing, dancing, Hmong fashion show to showcase Hmong tradition costumes from the past till present , children Christmas park display with many other different performances.

Though Ms. Jessica said that they can't do Miss Hmong show and Hmong traditional music show (Harp, flute, Pipe reed, leaf blowing, spoken words poem, poetry, banjo etc, she hopes that those who are talented is these fields can showcase there performances and there will be an open mic session for anyone who has not register to participate if they want. And these topics will be on the list for next Hmong Melbourne New Year Festival show.

The 26th Dec 2018 which is the first day of Hmong Melbourne New Year Festival 2018-19, there will be Hmong fashion show, singing and performances.

The second day which is the 27th Dec, there will be ball throwing, sports competition from lunch to afternoon, and there will be singing and performance during the night.

The 28th Dec which is the last day and only half day, there will be no other activities except ball throwing.

Jessica Vue Ly said that she and her team would like to make it a surprise for Hmong Melbourne community this year so they can see the differences from previous years.#
