Business Development & Relationship Officer Marlon Deleon at WCIG says that his organization provides different services to Australian communities across Victoria, mainly aged care, youth services, training, and employment programs.
In training, free accredited English classes which funded by the Australian government are also provided for those who want to take their English to the next step that is for employment or further education into colleges or universities.
Mr. Deleon says, anyone who are migrants and refugees and speaking other languages rather than English at home, are permanent residents, hold medicare cards, not attend high school in Australia are eligible to apply.
The course will teach four main fields such as reading, writing, speaking and listening. It also includes going out to the community to practice everyday English, cooking classes. It will require students to study two days for 600 hours up to 6 months to complete each class, either Certificate I, II or III.
Mr. Deleon says that WCIG wants to focus on a small class size of 15 people because they want to create an environment that can help students learn. For the venue, people who are interested to learn need to find a place near their communities and WCIG will organize teachers to go to that group and teach them at the venue they arranged.
