Who wastes our foods, what are the causes and their effects and what can we do about it?

According to a recent survey by Rabobank, those who use food delivery services and online grocery delivery i.e UberEats and Deliveroo tend to waste more food than those who are not.

It claims millennials, wastes more food, baby boomers waste food the least. However, food charity OzHarvest argues that is not the case as millennials are just the tip of the iceberg. This issue has happened for a long time before they are actually born.

Two main reasons found from this survey says that food goes off before they eat them or either they make or order too much and cannot finish, therefore wasting it.

Rabobank says that it is everyone's responsibility starting from growers, supply chains, restaurants, households and consumers, each has a part to play to reduce food waste. If there is no food security, it could lead to a detrimental effect on society and the environment.
