Kurds referendum result on Wednesday the 27th September 2017 showed 93% of Kurdish voted "Yes" to be independent from Iraq.
Though celebration and euphoria are currently at its heights, international communities have expressed concerns toward peace security and stability in the region especially United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterress.
Some countries said, it is not the right time and Iraq should focus on fighting I-S while many other countries including the US, Iran, Turkey and Australia said they will not honor the result as it is illegitimate according to Iraqi constitution.
There are new reports that the Iraqi government wants Kurdistan to hand over their borders and airport authorities back to Baghdad and if they are not corporate, military action will be taken.
Ismet Tastan from Sydney Representative of the Kurdishtan National Congress said that he didn't expect the Iraqi government to take such action and democratic processes should be on the table. Though he said that they don't want to create conflict in their country.
Despite the Irqi pressure and international concerns, Zirian Fatah a Co-Chair of the Kurdish Lobby Australia said "after the votes there should be peaceful dialogue and negotiation" and he also urged for Australia supports stating that "Australian government and International communities including the United Nations should land Kurdistan a hand to achieve their independence."
