Reintroducing Metro-Melbourne stage 3 restrictions

Melbourne's lockdown stage 3 will be reintroduced starting from midnigh Wedneday the 8th July 2020 until midnight Wednesday the 19th of August 2020.


Metro-Melbourne Stage 3 restrictions

This is an important message for listeners in Victoria.

With coronavirus increasing in Victoria, a number of areas will go back to Stage 3 restrictions.

From 11:59pm on Wednesday 8 July, these restricted areas are:

  • Banyule
  • Bayside 
  • Boroondara
  • Brimbank
  • Cardinia
  • Casey
  • Darebin
  • Frankston
  • Glen Eira
  • Greater Dandenong
  • Hobsons Bay
  • Hume
  • Kingston 
  • Knox 
  • Manningham 
  • Maribyrnong
  • Maroondah
  • Melbourne
  • Melton
  • Mitchell Shire
  • Monash
  • Moonee Valley
  • Moreland
  • Mornington
  • Nillumbik 
  • Peninsula 
  • Port Phillip
  • Stonnington
  • Whitehorse
  • Whittlesea
  • Wyndham
  • Yarra
  • Yarra Ranges
If you live in these locations, there will again only be four reasons to leave your home:

  • Shopping for food and supplies
  • Care and caregiving
  • Exercise
  • Study or work – if you can’t do it from home.
The businesses in these restricted areas that have been able to reopen recently – such as beauty parlours, gyms, libraries and swimming pools – will again be closed. Cafes and restaurants will return to take-away and delivery only.

Restrictions will be in place until 11:59 on Wednesday 19 August 2020.

Residents in metropolitan Melbourne are subject to stay-at-home orders and can only leave home for food and essential supplies, work, study, exercise or care responsibilities. People are also advised to wear masks in public.

People in Australia must stay at least 1.5 metres away from others. Check your state’s restrictions on gathering limits.
