In Australia, refugee organizations offer a range of programs and initiatives to help new arrivals regain a sense of community and belonging in their new country.

Newcomers to Australia whether you are new migrants, refugees and those who seek asylum in Australia may feel lonely due to it maybe because it is a new country, a new language, new culture, a new way of life that we will need to adapt and adopt so feel that we are part of the bigger community-Australia.

For these reasons in 2018, the City of Sydney along with the Settlement Services International (SSI) in collaboration with newcomers to Australia are invited to co-designed the volunteer program called Welcome2Sydney to help these newcomers feel welcome and to help them to become part of Australian communities through intercultural connection and exchange ideas with local Sydneysiders and also through many other activities like joining a picnic, accessing public transport, etc.

While in Melbourne, AMES Australia also has camp programs for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers youth, mothers, and babies to connect with each other.

If you are someone want to know more about mental health wellbeing or talk to someone about any kind of your concern you can call the Beyond Blue 24/7 on  1300 22 4636 or call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
