The historical summit between US-President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at Singapore was hailed as great success even Mr. Trump himself said it is a tremendously success, though many still question how will North Korea denuclearize and what are the processes it has to stick to as well as how the US will lift its economic sanction in exchange for North Korean irreversible and verifiable denuclearization.
Some still see this meeting as a tactic that North Korea use to milk the west for its own benefits and leave the prospect of denuclearization an impossible mission as it has already occurred in the past. However, North Korea leader said, it is very committed to get it right this time. And US Secretary of State hopes that North Korea will honor its promise and get it done by 2021 when Trump Administration has served its term.
Though rights group are not happy that the US has ignored North Korean's human rights issues.
Meanwhile other world leaders are pleased with this summit is a great success, other are exercising caution, saying that North Korea did not indicate any intention and show concrete steps that it will carry out to fulfill this mission. However, some of the world leaders said that there are other priority issues need to be dealt with and diplomacy is the way not war.
"Our relation ship with North Korea and the Korean Peninsula is going to be very much different situation than it has in the past. We both are going to do something and we are going to do something. People will be very happy and very impressed and we're going to take care of a very big and very dangerous problem for the world," siad US President Donald Trump.
US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said that:
"Trump: Today we had a historic meeting and decided to leave the past behind and we are about to sign a historic document. Kim: The world will see a major change."
Mr. Donald Trump continue to say that:
"The past does not have to define the future. Yesterday's conflict does not have to be tomorrow's war. As history has proven over and over again, adversities can indeed become friends. We can honor the sacrifice of our forefathers by replacing the horrors of battle with the blessing of peace and that's what we're doing and that's what we have done."
Both of the leaders have been meeting with their translator for 45 minutes before more senior officials from both side namely US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, National Advisor John Bolton, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and North Korean former Military Intelligence Chief Kim Yong Chol, Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho as well as Mr. Kim's deputy leader, Ri Su Yong to join them in the meeting.
According to CNBC, the US-DPRK has achieved 4 main points from Singapore summit namely "the US and Democratic People Republic of Korea (DPRK) are committed to create a good relationship between them as their people desire in order to create peace and prosperity. US and DPRK will joint to creat lasgting and peace regime in the Korean Peninsula. US and DPRK has reaffirm the Punmunjom Declaration on last April and that DPRK will honor and commit to work to ward total denuclearisation in the Korean Peninsula. And the US and DPRK are commit to recover American family missing soldiers during the wars or those which have been prisoner of war and recover and return US arm if it is identifiable."
Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said that though it is a great success, we should be cautious about the possibility of the outcome of this summit. She believes that this is just the start and lot of diplomatic works need to be carried out which Federal Opposition leader Bill Shorten agreed, but he said wouldn't release the pressure on North Korea just yet in order to get better outcome from this summit. So the ultimate goal is peace for the world and Korean Peninsula including Australia.
However, analyst experts from the Australian Policy Institute, Malcolm Davis mentioned that we should no focus on the amiable aspects shown by these to leaders but rather pay attention to the result of the summit.
"If North Korea can reach the US, it can reach Australia and it could deliver nuclear warheads against Australian cities. It is therefore very important from an Australian perspective that we do not allow North Korea to maintain its nuclear capabilities because they can threaten Australian territory. It is definitely historic but we shouldn't get our hopes up too much at the end of the day after all the photo opportunities, the handshakes and the smiles, North Korea has to agree to a comprehensive, verifiable, irreversible denuclearisation of their forces for it to be successful and so far there's no indication they're prepared to give up their nuclear weapons."
Technically, South Korean is still at war with North Korea, however President Moon Jae-In has praise US President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un through his spokeman Kim Eiu-Kyom that:
"I congratulate and welcome the success of of this historic North Korea-US summit with a burning heart. I offer my highest praises to President Donald Trump and Chairman King Jong Un for their courage and bold decisions."
On North Korean's human rights issues, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch are not satisfied arguing this issues has been ignored. These issues include dissidents being forced to do harsh labo, Kim's stepbrother assassination, and disappearance of political rivalry, but Trump praised Kim instead that he is a smart guy and knows how to negotiate and that loves his nation which spark outcry from international human rights organizations.
Israel Prime Minister only gave credit to Mr. Trump, saying "this summit is historic and a crucial footprint towards denuclearisation and that Trump Administration's policies are tiding with Israel, the region the the world."
Benjamin Griveaux which is the French Government spokeman said that France is ready to be part of the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula while European Union Chief Foreign Policy Federica Mogherini said that this summit has already shown that diplomacy is the way forward not war and that it is time for the world leaders to deal with Iran nuclear problem.#
