For this weekly news, Dr. Houa Yang has reported about US tariff on its allies, namely the European Union (EU), Canada and Mexico, Mideast peace, Spain and Italy election, China's One Belt One Road and Laos.

There are mixed reaction towards US President Trump's trade war with the world, and its allies said that retaliation will be 'dollar match dollar'.

Leaders from the EU have expressed their disappointment with America and promised they will retaliated with import tariff the same US did toward them.

Frecnch Pressident Emmanuel Macron said that it is illegal to imposed 25% tariff on EU steel and 10% on its aluminum.

Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel also suggested this idea will affect everyone.

EU is preparing its legal case to the World Trade Organization to deal with this matter.

Canada's leader Justin Trudeau is not contented and said trade tariff with the US will be match dollar by dollar worth around 17 billion dollars including American whisky, and some type of steel.

Mexico was also not spared by the US. It promised to impose some tariff on American steel, and agricultural products.

But worse of all the Northern American Free Trade Agreement has come to a halt because of the US trade war with its allies.

China and the EU said trade war benefits no one and may cause global trade chaos and that America should embrace globalization not protectionism.

However, Wilbur Ross, the US Commerce Secretary said any retaliation from its allies will have little impact on the US economy and in time, they will get over it.

But global stock market has been fluctuated as investors are not sure what is going to happen next. Most disturbing issue is the American First strategy will see most of the Western World turning to China for trade partnership and may further isolating the US.

For Middle East,  the US Ambassador to the UN, Niki Haley said that it is unfair that UN sides with the Palestinian and forget about Israel's rights to protect itself during the UN resolutions to condemn Israel violence against Palestinian march which is now more than 100 Palestinian killed by Israel soldiers since March 2018.

Syria  wants the US military out or it will use force to take the US.

In Asia, China realized that the US and global community will not allow China to pursue the South China Sea easily, China's One Belt One Road initiative is the other alternative that its can leverage its economic might-a mutual benefits as it claimed with global community. However, some experts see this initiative as debt trap for developing countries which China disregarded, arguing, it is anyone's game.

Two countries that will benefits most from China One Built One Road are Cambodia and Sri Lanka as China wants to push its trade through South East Asia and South Asia to other regions.

For Thailand, it is planning new airport in Phuket and Chiangmai for its tourism industry and it is also planing to create high speed rail link to its other 3 major airports for instance, Donemuang, Outaphao, Souvanaphoum.

However, China-Thai railway has been putting on hold due to China wanting share ownership of 70-30 of this project like it did with it's Lao counterpart. It wants everything from construction materials to be from China, to more share of ownership of convenient stores along the railway and higher interest loan for this project to which Thai disagrees.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and its premier Li Keqiang also visit Lao President Bounhang Vorachit and has announced that it will help Laos turn its mission of land-locked into land-link a reality and that this mission will be mutual benefits for both parties.

The US President Donald Trump has signaled green light to resume the US-North Korea summit in Singapore as planned (2nd June 2018) after he has cancelled. South Korea has acknowledged that, while Singapore Defense Minister said it is trying to be the best host as it can and will cooperate with either the US and North Korean Intelligence Agency to handle safety and security for this summit.

In the past recent weeks, North Korea has already mentioned that if it is force into denuclearized its nuclear programs beyond irreversible and not treated as equal nuclear partner, or if its regime is threatened to be ousted, it will not attend the meeting. However, it is still in the stage where talks will continue, while it is destroying its nuclear test sites. But the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported that in order to get rid all of North Korean nuclear testing sites, it will take at least over a decade, which Trump's administration is only allowed 2 terms if it is re-elected.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was also in Pyongyang to dialogue with North Korean leaders while it will further talk with the US at later date about the Korean peninsula peace and US-North Korean summit.

America and China are still negotiating about the US cancelling 5 years visa for Chinese students studying in America.

China will also hold a summit on the 9-10 June 2018 for Shanghai Cooperation which around 200 entities and international observers including the US will attend.

China and Russia has indicated joint military exercise call "Peace Mission 2018". The exact date and locations will be further notify.#
