Neng Thao who studied regenerate biology from Harvard University said how and why we should encourage kids and students, especially girls to study STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer and Maths) subjects?

Neng Thao said that there are pros and cons for studying STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineer thiab Maths).

The good side about studying these fields are that you can grow, you can study other field which relate to each others, whereas if you study only the easy subjects and growth opportunity is quite slim.
"Thao said that we should plant the seed of STEM subject to kids and encourage kids from very young age to be curious and want to study these fields, not when they are already in high school or universities."
But if we look at Hmong community, gender base role is still pretty much influencing to discourage kids especially girls no to pursue these profession seeing as the jobs for men.

Besides, there not a lot of Hmong people who are experts in these fields who can actually share their knowledge to Hmong community.

But as technology advance, we can study from social media sources or mentors who are willing to share their knowledge.
Neng also said that parents, schools and government policies as well as the student themselves have a role to play, either encouraging, inspiring and creating a platform where students can engage in STEM subjects, or implementing government educational programs, but the most important part is students themselves have to be self aware, know what do they really want to study and follow their passion, do what they love in order to fulfill their fullest potential, not following the crowds.#
