Consumers urged to cut all strawberries in half in latest warning

Queensland Health has updated its health warning over the strawberries contaminated with needles.

Queensland Health has issued a new warning saying that while it's safe to buy strawberries, consumers should cut them up before consuming.

In the latest statement, consumers have once again been advised to dispose of Berry Obsession and Berry Licious strawberries. These brands have now been removed from sale.

This comes after Queensland strawberry growers - already struggling with low prices -  imploring customers to stick by their product after sewing needles were discovered in retail stocks of the fruit.
