Dozens trapped after fatal landslide at Indonesian mine

At least three people are dead after a landslide at an illegal gold mine on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, while more than 60 remain buried.

Indonesia's disaster agency says at least three people are dead after a landslide at an illegal gold mine on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi.

The incident occurred overnight on Tuesday, with more than 60 people estimated buried. At least 15 people have been rescued from the landslide by workers and villagers working on the muddy hillside.

Rescuers said they could hear the voices of those trapped in makeshift mining shafts in the Bolaang Mongondow area of North Sulawesi province.
