Six dead in pro-Prabowo Jakarta protests

Supporters of unsuccessful Indonesian presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto have clashed with security forces in Jakarta, with reports of fatalities.

Supporters of unsuccessful Indonesian presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto have clashed with security forces and set fire to a Jakarta police dormitory after the release of official election results.

Local media reports have quoted Jakarta mayor Anies Baswedan saying six people died in the clashes, with at least 200 injured.

National Police spokesman Dedi Prasetyo said protests turned violent late Tuesday and continued during the night, with protesters attempting to force their way into the offices of the election supervisory agency.
