2025 International Women’s Day: How do migrant women, refugees and asylum seekers fare in Australia?

Whatever their legal status, migrant, refugees and asylum-seeking women deserve a good life. This means they have the right to equal rights, to find work and realize their dreams. But what is the reality?

As explained by Ifrin Fittok, CEO of SisterWorks, the opportunities and participation of new arrival women in Australia are still hampered because the mainstream programs provided by the government often do not match their needs.  

That is why SisterWorks seeks to further empower new arrival women through programs that provide impact that enable migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking women to achieve their social mobility and economic goals.
