A festering wound that kills people. That's how Labor MP Melissa Parke has described Australia's asylum seeker policy which sees refugees who arrive by boat sent to offshore processing centres.
As a result of the asylum policy, one man died after being flown to Australia for medical treatment while a woman from Somalia remains in a critical condition.
