Charlie Kirk co founded the Turning Point USA organisation in 2012 to drive conservative viewpoints among young people. He has now died after being fatally shot while taking part in an event at Utah Valley University, where he was taking questions from students. The shooter has been arrested by the authorities.

A 22 year old man has been arrested over the shooting death of Charlie Kirk at a Utah University.

He's been identified as Tyler Robinson, a Utah resident who family members say had recently become more 'political' and increasingly vocal in his opposition to the conservative activist's ideas.

Authorities believe Tyler Robinson acted alone, and that he had no known prior criminal history.
