The year 2021 marks a number of anniversaries in the quest to find new frontiers in space. Sixty years ago the first human flew into space inspiring dreams that one day humans might fly to the moon. In 1961 President John F. Kennedy set a goal for an American crewed rocket to perform a lunar landing.

The announcement in October 2020 that discovery of a greater abundance of water supplies on the moon than previously thought possible was another milestone, fuelling hopes for further travel and perhaps human settlement on the moon.  Dian Puspita Triani, a PhD candidate in astrophysic at Swinburne University explained what the realistic possibilities might be.
