European Union [[EU]] leaders have failed to reach agreement on the distribution of COVID-19 vaccine shots among member states.


 

Faced with a surge in coronavirus infections and a shortage of COVID-19 vaccines, European Union leaders held a video conference.

 

They discussed whether to take a tougher line on coronavirus vaccine exports by companies that don't meet contractual commitments.

 

They're frustrated about a massive shortfall in deliveries of the AstraZeneca shot promised to the E-U, and divided on how to respond.
