The life of a diplomat’s wife provides opportunities to experience new places, peoples and cultures. There are some aspects of a host culture that might be valuable to learn. Other aspects are best accepted as just different.

The life of a diplomat’s wife provides opportunities to experience new places, peoples and cultures. There are some aspects of a host culture that might be valuable to learn. Other aspects are best accepted as just different.   

A diplomat’s family need to continually adapt to new circumstances.  Mrs. Caecilia Legowo is the wife of Kristiarto Legowo, the Indonesian Ambassador to Australia.  She is chair of the Indonesian Women’s Association (DWP) at the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra. Mrs Caecilia Legowo shares insights into her experiences adapting to life in Australia as an Indonesian woman, wife and mother. What can we learn?
