A multicultural organization supports the call of antigambling advocates against a full ban on gambling advertising.
The Multicultural Communities Council (MCC) of New South Wales said they were concerned about the impact of gambling on people who are culturally and linguistically diverse.

An inquiry led by the late Labour Party Member of Parliament Peta Murphy more than a year ago recommended a complete ban on gambling advertising.

The justification put forward by some Government Members of Parliament, including Bill Shorten, is that a partial ban would help the media sector deal with that advertising black hole.
The government has yet to confirm its plans publicly, and strict confidentiality agreements have kept those involved in the consultation process silent.
