Cisgender and fearless. Marbee celebrates the strength of millennial women on International Women’s Day.

After the events of the last few weeks many women in Australia felt anger and sadness on International Women’s Day. An Indonesian millennial studying in Australia believes that the women of her generation are much less likely to be silent about incidents of sexual harassment and violence.


Marbee (Marya Budianta) is a young Indonesian woman studying in Australia. She also is prominent as a musician.  Marbee talks about what it means to be cisgender and explains her reaction to recent events in Australia. She also has a special gift for SBS listeners.
