The supply of electricity in Australia is still a matter of concern. Some coal-fired power plants will soon be shut down in the near future. And with increasing tariffs, is it necessary to maintain the coal-fired power plant.

The Liddell plant in the New South Wales Hunter Valley, due to close in 2022, is owned by A-G-L, and has been at the centre of internal politicking within the federal government this week about energy policy.

Alinta Energy, Delta Electrcity, and Chinese conglomerate Shandong Ruyi have all expressed interest in buying the Liddell plant, which could cost one billion dollars.
