The recipients of the 2021 Australian of the Year awards are all women from diverse backgrounds. And for the first time in the award program's history, a Tasmanian has been named Australian of the Year.

The recipients have been honoured for their service to Australian communities.  In doing so they demonstrated some remarkable qualities.
