Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has defended what he calls his "tough" asylum-seeker policy, acknowledging it is harsh but saying it is necessary. Appearing on Q&A program on ABC, Mr Turnbull was asked via video by a detainee on Manus Island why the detainee could not come to Australia.
