An Australian-first trial will test the therapeutic benefits of synthetic cannabis on children living with severe epilepsy. The drug will be made from a derivative of the marijuana plant compound, and forms part of an international clinical study.
The legislation to make medicinal cannabis legal for use by patients in exceptional circumstances will be debated in Parliament later.
