Getting equal pay is still a problem for Australian women and pay gap in Australia persists. In March 2021 the Bankwest Curtin Economic Centre reported that in Australia full-time women workers on average get around $490 a week less than male co-workers. Why is reform taking so long?
Nurina Merdikawati, PhD Scholar at Crawford School of Public Policy, The Australian National University describes the concepts of equal pay and pay gap and also explains why the problems persist in contemporary Australia.
