The Federal Government has restored its $750 pandemic payments for casual workers, following a fast tracked meeting of the National Cabinet.

Health experts, State Governments, unions and workers, are all concerned about ending pandemic leave payments for freelancers.

The allowance was designed to stop people with the virus from working because they couldn't afford to isolate, but the scheme was canceled by the previous Coalition Government in late June.

The Labor government revived the Scheme and it will be available again from 20 July, and will last until 30 September. And the payment will also be pushed back from July 1st.
The Commonwealth and states and territories will share the costs - an estimated 780 million dollars in total.
