The Federal Government has supported initiatives to make Australia a global leader in bsuhfires and flood recovery by 2025.


Fires destroyed 18.6 million hectares of land; nearly 6,000 buildings, and at least 34 people have lost their lives.
Now, a coalition of experts, corporate partners, emergency services, government agencies and philanthropists have laid out a plan to try to ensure the death and destruction of the Black Summer wildfires will not be repeated.

The Minderoo Foundation, which developed what they call the 'bushfire shot', said Fire Shield aims to reduce the scale and impact of wildfires by finding new methods to detect, monitor and extinguish dangerous fires within an hour, anywhere in Australia. , in 2025.
