The first public hearing for an inquiry into Australia's major supermarkets is examining issues such as pricing dynamics and profit margins of major retailers.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission ((ACCC)) is leading an investigation into the application of prices and profits at supermarket giants Woolworths and Coles.
The inquiry has heard from consumer advocates who voiced concerns around price-fixing, food insecurity, and a loss of confidence in pricing.
