Dr Priyambudi Sulistiyanto, a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for United States and Asia Policy Studies at Flinders University in Adelaide, explains why the Jokowi phenomenon has emerged and survived in Indonesia less than 20 years after the fall of Soeharto.


Why do we need to better appreciate the uniqueness of the Jokowi presidency?  Why should Jokowi’s rise and political survival give us hope for Indonesia’s political future?  Dr Priyambudi Sulistiyanto explains his optimism.
