The number of Australians who have registered to vote in a referendum to enshrine the Indigenous Vote into Parliament in the Constitution has broken records.

A-E-C said the national enrollment rate stood at 97.5 percent, up from 97.1 percent at the end of last year.

For the first time, indigenous registration is above 90 per cent, with 60,000 more Indigenous Australians registered to vote.

The new figure of 94.1 per cent of Indigenous enrolments represents a jump of almost 10 per cent from last year's figure.

The Northern Territory, which usually lags behind, now has 92 per cent of registrations, which is the first time it has passed the 90 per cent mark.

The same was true of teen enrollment rates which, at 90.3 percent, were also above 90 for the first time since records began.
