Ahead of next week's federal budget, the Albanese government said that a re-elected Labor government would lower the price of medicines listed in the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme to no more than $25 per prescription. The current price limit is $31.60.

Meanwhile the Coalition confirmed that it would match the Labor Party's pledge to reduce the cost of medicines listed in the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme - PBS.
