It appears that many young men believe that the move towards gender equality has been excessive. And there are claims that social media is a powerful influence in promoting hatred of women. If this is true, what are the dangers, particularly in the struggle to reduce domestic violence?


Kate Walton is a writer and activist and Iwan Awaluddin Yusuf, is a lecturer in the Communications Department at the Indonesian Islamic University in Yogyakarta and a PhD student at Monash University with a strong interest in media and gender.  They discuss the dimensions of e problem. Is it merely a matter of the influence of social media blame?
