International students facing eviction have had legal wins in Melbourne after proving their financial difficulties were a result of COVID-19.

All international students are not eligible for federal government welfare support.

Many temporary visa holders do not know their rights in terms of house rentals and without the help of the newly formed union, they will become homeless.

Notifications for evictions are still issued although they are currently not valid, with the date being set the day after the moratorium was lifted.

The unions are calling for a long-term solution to this crisis.
