Macron Leads UN Declaration on Recognition of Palestinian State

France has formally recognised the state of Palestine in what President Emmanuel Macron hailed as a historic step towards Middle East peace.


The decision, welcomed by Palestinian leaders and backed by several allies, set the tone for the United Nation’s 80th anniversary session, even as Israel and the United States condemned it and boycotted proceedings.
