Following allegations of sexual assault in the Federal Parliament, Australians took to the streets on March 15 to express their anger at the violence against women and to demand that the Australian government take action. If women can't feel safe in Parliament, where can they feel safe?

Feminist writer and activist Kate Walton is co-organizer of March4Justice in Canberra and Dr Lily Yulianti Farid is a researcher at the Monash Center for Indigenous Studies, who attended the demonstration in Melbourne.

They explained that their demand was not only to make parliament a safe workplace for women, but also to make Australia a safe place for all women.
