The 1948 Arab-Israeli conflict is a pivotal moment in the timeline of an ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.


While the conflict then lasted less than a year, it led to the mass displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. But at the same time, it marked the declaration of the state of Israel.
