Every August 17th, Indonesian citizens hold a flag-raising ceremony. And the raising of the red and white flag is carried out by the Flag hoisting troops or commonly abbreviated as PASKIBRA.


Dilail Abimanyu spoke with Lisa Juniyanti and F.X. Brian T. Atmaja, dari Purna Paskibra KJRI Melbourne.

Lisa and Brian shared stories about the process of the Indonesian Consulate General in Melbourne's Paskibra this year, starting from recruitment, training, until the event on August 17.

Lisa said that the training process for Paskibra members took approximately 4 months starting from April. Some of the materials taught included marching and how to raise the flag.

Apart of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, the Melbourne's Paskibra also raised the Indonesian flag at Federation Square.
