Monkey Pox. What is causing it to spread?

Australia recently announced its first official cases of Monkey Pox, one in Victoria and one in New South Wales. The rare viral infection mainly occurs in central and western Africa. But recently is has infected people in non-endemic countries.


A number of European countries, along with the United States and Canada, are currently dealing with outbreaks.  Does it have the potential to be another pandemic?
