More than 170-thousand Australians live in residential aged care, and that number will rise in coming decades. As Australia's population also becomes more culturally diverse, aged-care facilities are adapting, too. A new nursing home being built next to a mosque in Sydney will target the particular needs of Muslims.

For many older Muslims, visiting their local mosque is not just about faith -- it is also about companionship.

Gallipoli Health Services, connected with the mosque, will soon begin construction on a facility designed specifically with Muslim residents in mind.
