To commemorate the International Day of Remembering Those Who Died in World War II, Dr Paul Thomas, a lecturer in Indonesian Studies at Monash University, tells the story of Samuel Jacob Monado, an Indonesian, who escaped Japanese internship then died mysteriously while working for Australian intelligence.


What do we know about the work and life of Samuel Jacob Manado?  What about his wife and family?  What was mysterious about Jacob’s death?  What happened to his family after he died?  Dr Paul Thomas tells the story of a remarkable life.
