The COVID pandemic has hindered progress against TB, HIV and malaria in the Asia-Pacific region

The Global Fund, the world's leading financer the fight against HIV, malaria and tuberculosis has asked the Australian government to provide a $450 million commitment, as all three diseases show signs of getting worse in the Asia-Pacific region, after COVID-19.


The COVID-19 pandemic created a disturbance never seen in the past 100 years.

Plans were put on hold, cities were put on lockdown and borders closed, all as countries around the world tried to manage their overrun health systems.

World resources are being diverted to deal with the pandemic.
