Research finds betting advertising links to gambling problems

A new report finds nearly half of gamblers are at risk of losses, including unmanageable debts and mental health problems.


Young men aged 18 to 35 are particularly susceptible to gambling problems. But only sex and age data alone so far.

There is no real data on the harm levels of gambling in culturally and linguistically diverse communities, or other groups potentially marginalized and vulnerable to worse health outcomes. The

Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation has worked with groups such as the Multicultural Centre for Women's Health to distribute information about gambling in a variety of languages, so they are not excluded from support.
