The state premiers and the territory's chief ministers have teamed up to accuse the federal government of reneging on its promises on public hospital funding.
In 2023, the federal and state governments agreed on a new funding model for public hospitals, which will allow the Commonwealth to increase its portion of public hospital costs to 42.5 per cent by 2031.
However, according to the NSW Premier, the latest offer from the federal government is only 37 per cent of the total cost, which he thinks is a huge drop.
