Australia remains a country where the dream of home ownership is strong. But affordability continues to be an issue, with the 2016 census showing a slow but steady decline in home-ownership rates and a rise in rental rates. A recently published review of the private rental market in 10 other countries looked at what Australia could learn from those countries about the future of rental housing.
