Do you know of Fandi Ahmad? Or, more than just knowing the name, you do know about his achievements in the football's world, especially in Southeast Asia including Indonesia?
Fandi Ahmad was born in Singapore, 29 May 1962. Born to a working-class family, Fandi also sold nasi lemak to support his family's economy.
Despite his economic background, his talents and hard work made Fandi Ahmad a “national legend in Singapore"—Fandi became the first Singaporean footballer to play in Europe, the first Singaporean millionaire sportsperson and the first Singaporean sportsperson whose biography was published.
Fandi also has a special relationship with Indonesia. In addition to having Indonesian blood, Fandi has also played for Galatama competition club, Niac Mitra Suarabaya in the early 80's. He has also coached Pelita Jaya club.
