PPIA Victoria’s annual 'Temulawak' program introduces a new pre-event, which aims to engage a wider range of segments within the community.
Temulawak, the highly anticipated annual theater production presented by PPIA Victoria (Victoria's Indonesian Students Association) is returning this year with a fresh concept.
Project Manager Shaswa Tiara — dearly known as Yara — told SBS Indonesian that, set against the historical backdrop of the "Bandung Sea of Fire" (Bandung Lautan Api), this year’s Temulawak focuses on a family drama that also mirrors the struggles of students living far from home.
Unlike previous years, which featured more contemporary themes, this edition of Temulawak adopts a more traditional approach with a focus on drama, Yara explained.
In addition to the main performance on August 15, a pre-event — featuring a fun run and a morning market — will be held at King's Domain on July 25. Yara noted that these activities offer a great opportunity to attract people from diverse communities to discover Temulawak and enjoy a fun-filled event.
