Terrorist who attacked mosques in Christchurch gets life imprisonment without parole. How do Indonesian community in Christchurch feel?

Indonesians community in Christchurch accepted the sentence given to the terrorist gunman who attacked two mosques in March 2019. They respect the laws of the land they live in and want to move on. Yet for some there is a feeling that the punishment did not fit the crime, and lingering fears about their safety.


Zhania Yusti Anindya, daughter of Liliek Abdul Hamid who died in the terrorist attacks and Ibnu Sitompul, the President of the Indonesian Students Association in Christchurch, share their feelings about the sentence and about related issues like whether the prisoner should be returned to Australia.
