The expansion of Papua Provinces

The Indonesian government has decided to expand a new province in Papua, which previously only had two provinces.

In 2023, new provinces were legally formed. In January, new provinces will have their own budgets for one year. Among them is the Papua Mountain Province. In an interview with SBS Indonesian correspondent Nurhadi Sucahyo, one of the members of the Papuan People's Council (MRP), Ismail Aso from the Papua Mountain Province explained.
