Ultra-fast broadband will soon become a reality in Australia, with the announcement of a $ 4.5 billion upgrade to the National Broadband Network.

But the federal government has been criticized because more than a decade ago the proposal had been submitted by the Labor Party and had been rejected by the Liberal government.
