World Bee Day - we are invited to celebrate the contribution of bees and other pollinators to our well-being and welfare. However, in many places bees face a battle to survive because of environmental degradation. Are they facing extinction?


Dr Rika Raffiudin is a senior lecturer and researcher in the Biology Department of the Bogor Institute of Agriculture.  In a conversation with Sri Dean she explains why bees have a crucial role to play in guaranteeing food security and sustainable development.
